The Souhegan Scholarship Foundation will be presenting the following scholarships. Please follow the application directions carefully, and read this entire page before downloading your application(s).
An essay MUST accompany each application. You must also attach an official transcript to your application. If you are applying for multiple scholarships, one transcript will suffice.
We have eight scholarships available to students this year.
Applications due March 9, 2018.
In loving memory of Joshua, who was taken from us far too soon. Applicant must be a high school senior (with permanent residency in Amherst or Mont Vernon) with a minimum 3.2 GPA. Additionally, you must demonstrate a commitment to your community by reflecting service hours and financial need. Attendance at a four-year college is not required as long as it is a program of full-time study.

In memory of Linda J. Merrill, the first registrar of SHS, who was dedicated to encouraging, supporting, and inspiring SHS students to achieve their highest potential. Awarded to a student who has overcome difficult circumstances and continues to demonstrate the ability to perform academically and in the community.
In memory of Tony Barksdale II, a four-year member of the boys’ basketball program who exhibited our core values of team before self, and celebrated the success of others. Tony was the ultimate team player. This scholarship will be awarded to a Souhegan High School student who played at least one year of Varsity Boys’ or Girls' Basketball.
Ann Logan was committed to public education and the town of Amherst. She was a founding board member of Souhegan High School and advocated for inclusion and excellence in education. The recipient of this scholarship should be a SHS senior who has demonstrated a commitment to SHS and their community. Academics, athletics, clubs, music, and community service will all be considered.
Awarded to a student who is pursuing a career in the Arts & Humanities (for example visual arts, dance, drama, music, architecture, creative writing).
Awarded to a student who is pursuing a career in business.
Awarded to a student pursuing a career in a trade, technical or service-related field (for example, automotive, cosmetology, hospitality, childcare).
Awarded to a student who is pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
Students from Amherst or Mont Vernon who are enrolled in either public or private schools, as well as home-schooled students, are eligible to apply. All applications for 2018 will be due in mid-March 2018. You may mail them to PO Box 323, Amherst, NH 03031 or deliver them to the Souhegan High School Student Services office at 412 Boston Post Road, in Amherst, NH.
